Paulo was interviewed for 2023 edition of “The Business Year Portugal”, and had the opportunity to speak about a number of different topics including the ways in which real estate has changed in Portugal over the past 15 years and how Casaiberia has managed to adapt to and thrive in a sometimes unpredictable market. In the conversation Paulo mentioned that although there are several areas that still need improvement within the real estate sector, he felt "frustrated with the way the real estate consultant is seen in Portugal”. He emphasised the importance of the way in which real estate agents are perceived and how they come across during the purchase or sale of a property, which is why he gives great importance to the training of Casaiberia´s consultants. As general manager he invests a lot in the training of the staff in Casaiberia, ensuring their knowledge of the real estate market is up to date. For Paulo it is fundamental that the team is prepared to deal with a variety of issues that can arise with dealing with different clients. The clients purchasing in Portugal are becoming more and more diverse, and come from a variety of different origins. He states that the way in which our team is trained is crucial: "At Casaiberia we train our consultants to understand how to deal with clients of different nationalities as working with a French client, for example, is different to working with a German client". On Monday, Paulo alongside our Commercial Director, Elza Lopes, attended and spoke at a conference held by the Institute of Public Markets, Real Estate and Construction (IMPIC) which brought up the important role real estate professionals play in preventing money laundering and terrorist financing. Again, a huge thank you to the business year for taking the time to visit the office and speak with us, and to IMPIC and Polícia Judiciária for putting together such an important conference, and bringing light to ways in which we can help tackle these critical issues.
