Finangeste, one of Portugal’s leading real estate investment companies, has just broken ground on a massive €300 million development that promises to transform the city’s urban landscape. The project, called PUVA (Plano de Urbanização de Vale da Amoreira), is being developed just over a kilometer from the city center and spans a huge 21-hectare area. In partnership with an international investor, Finangeste is bringing this ambitious vision to life — and it’s packed with features that aim to reshape the way people live, work, and connect in Faro. So, what’s coming? PUVA will include: Affordable housing – With 1,461 new homes planned, the project is designed to meet the needs of local residents by offering high-quality homes at reasonable prices. Shops and offices – The development will host spaces for retail and businesses, helping to boost local commerce and create new job opportunities. Student and senior residences – Whether you’re heading to university or enjoying retirement, PUVA has dedicated living spaces for every stage of life. Healthcare services – Accessibility to health facilities will be a key part of the community. A 10-hectare urban park – Think bike paths, playgrounds, and sports facilities — it’ll be the biggest green space in Faro! And the best part? The construction is already well underway, with around 60% of the infrastructure work completed. The architectural vision comes from CPU Architects, with engineering support by CEC Engenharia and project management by Oyster PM. Landscape architecture is being handled by Álvaro Manso, who’s making sure the park becomes a standout feature of the city. The main construction has been handed over to Casais, a well-known Portuguese construction group, ensuring that things are moving forward smoothly and professionally. In a region known for its stunning beaches and tourist hotspots, this project brings something different — a long-term investment in the quality of life for those who live and work in Faro. With modern design, green spaces, and mixed-use areas, PUVA is set to become a benchmark for urban development in the Algarve.
