Stressful because the increase in population during these months interrupts the calm and peaceful rhythm of life of its residents, but amazing because this same increase in population brings life and energy to the region. Travelling around the Algarve you can find different types of tourists. There are those in the so-called golden triangle (central Algarve), composed of Quinta do Lago, Vale de Lobo and Vilamoura where you can find several Michelin star restaurants, luxury hotels, golf courses, magnificent beaches and much more. It’s here we find a more mature type of tourism that appreciates a more peaceful yet luxurious break. Other areas of the Algarve attract a younger tourist crowd, that enjoys the array of bars the Algarve offers and partying in groups until dawn. Sometimes these events are fun with both locals enjoying them, but sometimes these generate some disagreements, as we all know. On the other hand, there are families with children who enjoy a day at the beach and go on trips to discover the best that the Algarve has to offer. This type of tourism gives the children who live here the opportunity to make new friends and come into contact with different cultures, perhaps awakening their taste for travelling the world one day. Every resident, at least once, complains about the summer, for example the increase in traffic, the long queues at the supermarket, the noisier neighbours or the increase in prices in restaurants, but the good part that tourism brings us outweighs the bad by a large margin. To summarise, as an inhabitant of this fantastic region tourism is fundamental to the development of our region, we get to know other cultures and live with different people every year, in addition tourism is undoubtedly the great economic source of the Algarve and as such, we are happy to welcome everyone to our home.
