The New Real Estate Mediation: Knowledge, Innovation and Proximity at the Service of the Sector
On the 28th of May, the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura hosted the conference "The New Real Estate Mediation", promoted by APEMIP. On a day when the Algarve invited to the beach, more than two hundred professionals chose to be present to reflect on the challenges and opportunities that shape the future of real estate brokerage. The strong adhesion demonstrated, once again, the willingness of professionals in the sector to follow the evolution of the market and actively participate in the construction of its future.
The session began with the welcome words of the National Vice-President of APEMIP, Paulo Caiado, setting the tone for an afternoon of knowledge sharing, debate and reflection. The event was conducted by José Gabriel Quaresma, from CNN Portugal, whose experience and moderation skills contributed decisively to the dynamics and quality of the various panels.
One of the first highlights was the intervention of Francisco Serra Loureiro, President of the Professional Council of the College of Solicitors of OSAE, who addressed topics of great relevance to mediation professionals. Among the issues discussed were the tax benefits still available to foreign residents and the recent changes in succession matters, areas often present in the daily lives of real estate agents.
This was followed by a panel dedicated to digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, where representatives of Inovadigital, Idealista and Alfredo IA presented concrete examples of the application of these technologies to the sector. The discussion allowed us to better understand how Artificial Intelligence is already supporting the mediation activity and where the human factor continues to be absolutely indispensable. It was a debate that led many of those present to reflect on the need to adapt to the new tools, not as a threat, but as an opportunity to improve the service provided to customers.
Another of the most awaited moments of the afternoon was the intervention of Vítor Neves, professor at the School of Real Estate Activities. With his characteristic style, combining knowledge, experience and humor, he provided a presentation that was both fun and in-depth. Among examples of the day-to-day life of the profession and situations with which many mediators identified, he left important reflections on behaviors, attitudes and challenges of the activity.
The conference continued with an analysis of national and foreign investment trends, through a conversation between Ricardo Guimarães, Director of Confidencial Imobiliário, and Benedita César Machado, from Arrow Capital. The data presented and the perspectives shared allowed a more in-depth reading of the reality of the real estate market in the South of the country, highlighting characteristics that distinguish it from the rest of the national territory.
In the final stretch of the event, APEMIP formalized new strategic partnerships through the signing of protocols with HalloCasa, Rede Vistorias and The Portugal News. These initiatives reinforce the association´s commitment to creating more value for its members and generating new opportunities for the sector.
In closing, the Vice-President of the Southern Region, Paulo Lopes, left a clear message about the vision of the current board: to affirm APEMIP as the true voice of real estate mediation, through an association close to professionals and attentive to their needs. The "Serenatas da Mediação" project was also presented, an initiative that aims to promote proximity meetings, foster the sharing of experiences and strengthen relationships between colleagues in the sector.
The conference "The New Real Estate Mediation" confirmed that the future of the profession lies in knowledge, innovation, collaboration and the ability to adapt. More than an event, it was a moment of collective construction for a more prepared, stronger and more valued real estate brokerage.
